Christopher Lydon - Tuba

Christopher Lydon had his upbringing in a small village near Derby, and began playing the cornet at a relatively early age, moving relatively swiftly to tuba during his last year of primary school.

Christopher LydonWhilst undertaking his Bachelor of Music degree at The University of Manchester, he studied with Ewan Easton, principal tuba with the Hallé Orchestra.

Chris fills his time with various activities: teaching brass in a Young Offenders Institution as part of a Hallé Education Project, working with 1623 theatre company as music director, deputy head of the Support Team for the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, arranging and composing, playing tuba in various groups (including the world famous Besses o' th' Barn Band).
